How it works

We have a simple and detailed version of the page. At the end we will give you info on how to get the in depth version.

Now the simple version – streaming allows you to broadcast your camera/cameras signal to everyone via the internet. To have a great experience for your viewer you need to consider several things such as: Lighting & Camera Set Up, Video Encoder, Website Integration, Universal Access as a start. Let’s take a brief look.

We assume that most of you have this part well in hand already. However, if you need help, our experts can help answer your questions, provide you with a customized quote or help you with onsite equipment install. We work with several third parties that all have a minimum of 10 year experience and can serve clients with literally any budget range. When it comes to streaming our nearly decade of experience the best strategy is to start small and be consistent. Your church members already love your ministry and messages The potential first time visitors want to know what you are all about. Whether you are looking for a single camera shoot or already have great multi-camera set up please, don’t allow equipment to be a barrier. We can help!

Next you need to connect your video signal in an encoder. The most practical for most churches is a dedicated computer (either Mac or PC) with a software encoder. We realize many are tempted to just use an older computer and some streaming providers will tell you that that’s ok. Please remember that encoding involves compressing the video signal and making it suitable to transmit via the internet. If you are looking to do an HD stream or multiple bit rates streams we recommend a computer with at least i7 processor and 16 GB of Ram. Next you need to consider what video signal you have and how to input it. There are several converters that allow you to plug into the computer via usb port and have wide range of inputs from HD SDI to Composite. For best experience we recommend capture card that plugs in directly in the mother board. Next you can choose from several encoders. Adobe Flash Media encoder is a popular free option and Wirecast is a popular paid one. We support both. To keep things simple we also offer a custom built streaming computer configured based on the video/audio inputs you need. We also preinstall and configure your encoding software and can login remotely to provide continuous support. If you have specific questions about computer or encoding configuration don’t hesitate to contact us.

Next we host a streaming page for you on one of the premier cloud solutions. To make it look just like your website, we actually rebuild your full navigation header footer and background on your page. To our knowledge we are the only streaming company that does this. It takes a little more effort, but ultimately it provides the best possible experience. We know that our page can handle the load of many hundreds or thousands of people requesting a stream all at ones. If you ask any website usability expert they will tell you to minimize clicks for increased traffic and better results. Our solution does just that. We are not just offering a simple link back to your page. This page will look just like any other page on your site. In fact, the average visitor never realizes that this page is hosted somewhere else. If they wanted to visit any other page on your site the full website menu is right there. You can also mange every other aspect on your page from countdown image to giving links to event names from our easy to use admin. To learn more about our admin click here.
